The Hygeia EnJoye Breast Pump
Advertisements
In 2007 the San Diego, California-based Hygeia company was founded and soon introduced the Hygeia Enjoye breast pump. This pump is touted as the "most Mom and EARTH friendly" pump. This uniqueness stems from the reason that this pump has received FDA clearance for use by multiple mothers. Each mother must have their own personal set of parts that are not shared. The main part of the pump is safe for sharing much like the hospital grade or rental pumps available by Medela or Ameda. In addition to the fact that the pump can be shared or resold by mothers for as long as it works, the Hygeia company also encourages return of its medical devices to the company for refurbishing or recycling. This will help to keep used breast pumps out of landfills. One of the unique features of the Hygeia pump is C.A.R.E., which stands for "Customized, Audio, Recording, Experience." This is a button on the side of the pump that allows a convenient means for recording your baby's hunger cry and playing it back when you are ready to pump. Many mothers have reported an easier let-down of their milk at the breast pump when listening to recordings of the sounds their baby makes when hungry or nursing. Hygeia also has a consumer-friendly policy of allowing returns if the mother feels the pump is not compatible with her pumping needs. The buyer must have proof-of-purchase (i.e. the receipt) and must return the pump to the place where it was purchased. A credit or refund may be received for the cost of the pump only but not the personal accessory set or extra accessories like totes or bags. The returned pump also must be undamaged by misuse or accident. The Hygeia EnJoye also has an unusually long warranty of 3 years. More information about the warranty and the "compatibility guarantee" can by found at the official Hygeia website at www.hygeiababy.com.
